ABOUT
HUGO
Hugo
discovered how important the mind is and how it relates to the internal
power at age 15 when he got exposed to a martial art, Aikido. Aikido
taught Hugo that physical force and strength had nothing to do with
the ability to take someone down as well as neutralizing a more
powerful opponent. Hugo learned though Aikido that the way to conquer
someone more powerful was by using the strength of the opponent,
by maintaining a relaxed state, and allowing the body do what is
has already learned.
Later
on in life Hugo met John Marshall, owner of Right On Programs, where
Hugo also teaches self empowerment classes to DUI offenders. John
showed Hugo the importance in obtaining balance, though the use
of the brain and how the brain is split into two hemispheres the
right and the left. The left being all of us in our daily life (work,
time, judgment, rational, logical, etc.) and the right the side
we all strive for (freedom, relaxation, creative, peace, etc…).
He told Hugo that in the society that we live we are always on the
left side of our brain. He said as a child we all are in the right
side (if not look at a little child and how it behaves, look at
the innocence that exits on his/her eyes). With time we move from
one side to the other (due to pressure work, bills, problems, etc.)
The teachings of John Marshall are that of balance, utilizing both
the left and the right brain for balance in life.
Hugo
got the opportunity to work with juvenile delinquents, juveniles
that got caught in the criminal justice system due to their behaviors.
By working with this population Hugo started to understand that
modifying the behavior is important, but even more important is
to deal with whatever caused that behavior in the first place. so,
in the future whatever caused that behavior does not reappear in
a different form or shape. At the same time Hugo was working with
juvenile delinquents, he was also working as a research assistant
with a doctor of clinical and neuropsychology. Hugo was able to
learn first hand how the brain functions and how it relates to certain
behaviors and perceptions of reality as well as performed personality
test and dealt one on one with clients assisting them in obtaining
more resources and facilitating change and increased choice in daily
living.
Finally,
everything came together for Hugo when he learned about NLP, Time
Line Therapy™, and Hypnosis. These powerful tools provided
Hugo with a way to help others to transform negative emotions, beliefs,
behaviors and limiting decisions, that have been stored in their
unconscious minds. Hugo uses a combination of these modalities to
facilitate quick and effective change and that is the basis of his
current work in his private practice.
Hugo is a Certified NLP Practitioner, Certified NLP Coach, Certified
Hypnotherapist, Certified Time Line Therapy ™ Practitioner,
Member of the American Board of Hypnotherapy, and a Member of the
Time Line Therapy Association. Hugo holds a Bachelor's Degree in
Criminal Justice, and has 5 years experience as a drug and alcohol
counselor, Hugo also ran a program for juvenile delinquents in Ventura
County to help teach youth new resources to better their lives and
focus on their future instead of crime. Hugo was born and raised
in Lima Peru, and is naturally fluent in both English as well as
Spanish.
